First Half
Somewhere, Roy Hodgson takes a big gulp of wine and sighs. Costa Rica had offered some troubles to the Italian defence, though Balotelli made a mess of a great chance given to him by Pirlo.
Seconds after Costa Rica should have a penalty, they scored anyways. A great cross from the left being nodded in by Fulham's Bryan Ruiz.
Second Half
Who saw that? Italy didn't seem remotely bothered for whatever reason, Costa Rica defended like giants and deserved the result.
Result
Costa Rica win 1-0 and go through to the next round. Italy will play Uruguay will play to decide who else goes through. England are knocked out.
